Welcome to 3rd Grade
Hello and welcome to our classroom webpage! I am so glad you are here checking everything out!
My name is Madelaine Hammen (Mrs. Hammen) and I am the 3rd grade English teacher at St. Anthony School. I attended Bishop Hayes Catholic School in Muscatine, Iowa for elementary school and then I attended Mazzuchelli Middle School and Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, Iowa. I graduated from Iowa State University in December with a degree in Elementary Education. I have endorsements in Reading, Social Studies, and English and Language Arts. After graduation I was a long-term substitute teacher for the Des Moines Public Schools. I am very excited for my second year at St. Anthony's School!
I am the oldest of five children. My parents live in Indiana and I love to visit my them! My favorite activities outside of teaching are reading, fishing, camping, and kayaking. I also love playing outside with my puppy, Benny.
I look forward to another fun year interacting with the students and families of St. Anthony Catholic School. Please feel free to contact me at any time!
